Fustar football game kicks off Wednesday

The maiden edition of FUSTAR Invitational Tournament will be holding between Wednesday, August 1 to 3rd at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium Lagos. Organisers of the event, Team Nigeria UK & International Limited said the tournament which is primarily a scouting programme will feature players of 16 years and below who are currently in football academies. Chief Executive Officer of Team Nigeria UK & International David Doherty told the media in Lagos Saturday that the programme will offer the players a platform to actualise their dreams of becoming professional footballers in future. “We are actually looking at different fields of empowerment for those who may not make it in football as we have instructors in different fields of endeavour,” Doherty said, adding that the tournament which will involve 16 teams was part of a ten-year plan for the development of future stars for the country.
